This is the first book where one of my illustrations was elected as the book's cover. We was seven very talent poets that wrote this anthology 2005. I am very proud of this book. The cover picture is very special and it also means symbolically much for me and I gave it the name: Star of Hope.
The title of the book Närmanden, sju röster i samspråk (sorry I can't find right word to translate) is exactly what the book is about. Seven poets, seven voices that talk.

The illustrations and photos take over my words.
Maybe the time is coming for me to continue write poems.....

Bright colors of Sweden

Today is the National Day of Sweden.
National Day of Sweden, or the Swedish Flag's Day ( is a national holiday observed in Sweden on June 6 every year. The day was made into a national day by Riksdagen, the Swedish parliament, in 1983, before which it was just honored as "the Swedish flag day.

The tradition of celebrating this date began 1916 at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium, in honour of the election of King Gustav Vasa in 1523, as this was considered the foundation of modern Sweden.

Some question the validity of this as a national holiday, as it was not observed as a holiday until decades later. However this event does signify the end of the Danish-ruled Kalmar Union, so in a sense it is a marking of Swedish independence, though the event occurred so long ago that it does not have as strong of a presence in the social consciousness as does, for example, Norway's Syttende Mai (17th of may).

In 2005 it became an official Swedish public holiday, taking that honour from Whit Monday. This change led to fewer days off from work (more working-days) as the 6th of June will periodically fall on the weekend, unlike Whit Monday, which was always celebrated on a Monday. This has in turn led to complaints from some Swedish unions.

The exhibition "Konstrundan i Hjo"/ Sweden

I will always remember my first art exhibition with warmth and gratitude, I was surrounded by four very nice people who made the exhibition a memorable one. It was Robin and his fiancée Maria, Joacim and his girlfriend Marina. They understood. Although I hid myself behind a illustration I knew they understood. As I said, not easy to begin to live again after a long illness that forced me to live isolated from the outside world during so many years.

First of all I wish to thank Joacim Jansson, the person who has been working the hardest of us all. He offered me and Robin aka Mr H, a great room, he fixed the lighting, helped with much of anything regarding suspensions and comfort to do. A tremendous artist which showed the visitors how things go when you manufacture jewelry.
A great man who really gave of himself. Not always encountered such.
Joacim Thanks for everything!

One of Joacim handmade jewelry. Unfortunately the picture does not give justice to the beautiful jewelery. Still, I agree to teach me how my new camera works and the use of flash was not the wise choice in jewelry photography.

Here is the Norwegian artist Magnus Robbenstad. I fell for his glass art, they were beautiful, stylish and breathing quality. He was also a informative person who took the time to tell us how he created his works. It was interesting to me to hear how he creates his works. If you look at these two pictures so you pehaps can see that regardless of where you stand so it looks as the face in the glass can see you. I thought they were wonderful. There were in all different shapes and colors and all was quite amazing.

Here is the artist Silvia McLoughlin next to her sculpture: Today;s Mona Lisa.
I liked her. Spontaneous and full of live inwords and gestures. It turned out that she was born in Argentina, had lived in Brazil and live for many years in Norway. A happy surprise is I was born in Brazil and has lived in Argentina and Chile ..:) Is it necessary to say that we found each other directly?
Here are some pictures of her beautiful works.

The third was the Danish artist Ruth Lorentzen. When I saw her subject, I wanted to have them in my garden. So beautiful, stylish, soft forms. Perfect for my garden, right?
I did not talk to her but I just took some pictures to show what fantastic crafts she creates with her hands.

Three exhibitors in the same garden, different genre and styles but they harmonized perfectly with each other. I was glad that I was there to see it. Thanks Marina for the proposal.:)

Konstrundan in Hjo became a memorable weekend with many impressions.. The next big event for me is happening now, 7 -14 June. Then some of my works are represented in California's largest exhibition, organized by the World Art Foundation.(WAF) My life is strange sometimes. Think for yourself. An unknown self-appointed blog illustrator is discovered by an organization in the U.S.. They sponsor my exhibition space and suddenly I ports overseas ..:)

Had I been full healthy and had the possibility I had gone there to see with my own eyes to understand that it is actually true.

I do have to continue writing my memories, I think..:) and I have to correct the English translation too. Hmm..:)

step back to take a step forward

I promise to write a little about the exhibition, but the accident with the flight, Brazil - Paris yesterday gave my mother a choke (she use to fly with that plane every time she fly to Sweden or fly back to Brazil, but I am also complete without energy those day.

I will try to write a blog tomorrow and also take the chance to publish some photos from 3 fantastic artworks from a garden exhibit I went to.
I am very tired and trying to step back to take a step forward. *s*
During time I hope you like this flower from my garden.

Take care and I will see you tomorrow.
Best wishes
Margareth
